Ramdom Thoughts Podcast Show #68 out

The Ramdom Thoughts Podcast never fails to amaze me. I listen to the podcasts on my ipod daily, with a few especially close to my heart.

Scott, the producer of the podcast even goes so far as to post download links to each song featured on the show right on the show notes blog. I've taken the initiative to download each one of these mashups to my hard drive. I then loaded all these songs into my iTunes install in a playlist called Ramdom Individual. I almost always just leave this playlist of about 139 songs on a continuous loop. It's just that great!

Scott, I wish you the best with the show. It's absolutely incredible.

Guide on adding mp3 encoding profile to Ubuntu after using automatix

If you just used automatix to add lame support to Ubuntu for mp3 encoding, you will probably notice that you still cannot rip to mp3 using the sound juicer application. This is because you need to add a profile for it using a gnome audio profile editor.

See this guide, they will set you up. Once you are done, you will be able to rip straight to mp3. You can then push the files over to the ipod at will.

My Pandora playlist is deteriorating

I like remixes of classic female vocal tracks, dont get me wrong. In fact there are some shirley bassey tracks that just blow my mind when properly remixed and set to a modern dance beat. That is not to say that I like shirley bassey straight up, but pandora based on a one time "i really like this shirley bassey remix" is making damn sure that I get a chance to listen to everything she has EVER PRODUCED.

Tis madness.

Dont even get me started on the streisand thing it's got going right now. I want an auto downvote feature for certain artists when they pop up in my playlist.
